Summary:
We received 2ft of snow in one day and another day later the trails wern't still groomed. The owner is the only one that does the grooming and doesn't let anyone else do it because he's done it this way for the last 40 years. So if you enjoy skiing in a deep snow it's OK but otherwise Powderhorn or Indianhead are much better groomed and a little higher elevation.

Summary:
Some really great runs. They usually have at least 6 to 8 mogul runs to keep you busy. Some nice expert chutes with cliff drop offs anywhere from a foot to maybe 10 feet. Only problem is the double black diamond runs get torn up early so hit them right away. This resort has a lot of hidden off trial runs that aren't to bad. One off trial run you can shoot out of the woods and hit a jump going over a small creek. Enough to keep you busy all day which as anyone in the Midwest knows, that is hard to do at most midwest resorts.

Summary:
If you are going to Big Snow Country do Big Powderhorn or Indianhead. They are much more modern facilities with longer runs, better lift systems, and much better maintained.

Summary:
Whitecap was a pretty cool place before the old man started cutting down all the trees to make a GOLF COURSE! Runs like The Dragon and St.George are o.k., but if you really want some expert-level skiing - go to MT. BOHEMIA way up on the Keweenaw Penninsula! It's twice as high as the "Big Snowcountry" areas, gets more snow and has the most insane tree-skiing I've seen ANYWHERE. Just make sure you bring your helmet.

Summary:
An interesting layout that makes the most of a modest vertical. Lifts, lodge facilities and management badly in need of updating.
