Summary:
Ellmau is one of the pretiest resorts in the Alps and certainly the best on the skiwelt region. I found the lift system extremely effecient due to an excellent funicalar railway allowing you to reach the top in about 5 minutes. The lift pass price is very reasonable. It's so easy to find a cosy little bar serving Gluwein whether in the mountains or in the resort, loads of places to choose from.

Summary:
The snow in January 2000 was fab. The instructors were friendly and spoke English very well. The ski welt area is huge and there are plenty of ski runs for every level of skier. If you have never skied before this is an ideal place to start, if experienced, you'll not regret it.

Summary:
Linked to the wider Skiwelt area, one of the largest ski areas in Austria. Very good foe intermediates and beginners, not much in the whole system for advanced (unless you know where to go), except travelling and mileage. Plenty of picture postcard restaurants to stop for a gluwein.
