Summary:
If you buy a Portes du Soleil lift pass, which i would highly recommend, you have days upon days of skiing down beautiful long and winding runs, or can always try some of the many off-piste tracks that lead off the edge of the piste - caution must be taken but if you follow other skiers you are unlikely to get into trouble! We frequently access the slopes from either Chatel, at Pres de la joux, or at the gondola near Les lindarets near Avoriaz - the bar at the base does a demon Vin Chaud!

Summary:
Went with the ESF skischool, and ended in their most advanced group which went off piste every day at different locations. This way I skiied a lot of good terrain which I would not otherwise have found.

Reviewed by: Pfeiffer Joachim, Advanced, from Karlsruhe

Summary:
Access Avoriaz from Morzine, where you can see the village's buildings on top of the huge rock Avoriaz is built on. Incerdibly scenic view!
Avoriaz is generic ski/board-only. The hotels are mainly booked by Brits and Dutch people, who stay there for a week or two. More family style rather than party people you'll find in Austria. Stay away from the area around the village, and you'll find plenty of space for skiing (and nothing else though. There's almost no après-ski).

Try out the swiss wall, if you dare.
