| | Reviewed by: G, Intermediate, from Sunderland, UK Summary: Good size slopes (brilliantly groomed) with very cool and chalenging off piste runs. A quite friendly crowd. Overall skiing is very good, but only go for the skiing. Nightlife is lame at best and I spent most of the nights at parties in hotel rooms. La Plagne is best enjoyed within a big group. You will get bored on nights otherwize. Worth a crack though, just for the slopes.

| | Reviewed by: Tom Witcher, DoubleDiamond, from UK Summary: Really good easily accessable off piste, most of which you can get to and navigate without a guide (as long as you are sensible and carry the right safety stuff of course (!)) I wouldn't try the North Face without a guide though (round the back of the glacier, takes half a day, need to get a taxi back from some tiny village in the middle of nowhere afterwards.) Pistes really extensive and good variety of runs. Will be unbelievably massive when links up with Les Arcs in 2001/02. This resort is genuinely suitable for everybody from beginner to advanced. I stayed in Belle Plagne which was prettier than the bigger villages. My back door opened out onto a blue run, which was unbelievably nice especially after recently experiencing the nightmare of the ski bus system in Austria. We paid £50 to get a ride down the olympic bobsleigh run with an olympic team member at the controls of a 4 man bob. Totally mental. Do it at the end of the trip thogh cos the G forces really strain your neck muscles, especially if u r a skinny git like me.

| | Reviewed by: adie coates, Advanced, from Kings Langley England Summary: Not the place to go if you are in to your nightlife. But if that is what you want go to Ibiza, La Plange suits those who want to ski all day on differant runs, and try some awesome off piste. When the Link to Les Arc is completed you will have over 400 kilometers of piste on one lift pass. Lift pass not to expensive, £100 a week.

| | Reviewed by: Chilles, Advanced, from Delft, The Netherlands Summary: More for skiers than for snowboarders, but still a more than decent area for everyone but beginning boarders. Has the ultimat off-piste spot (see above) but only in nice weather with a moderate amount of new snow (because of avalanches)
