| | Reviewed by: Latchigo, Double Diamond Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: A fantastic resort. Skiing all year round available. I normally book holidays at the last minute, when I know what the snow is like. If I had to book in advance, I would put Tignes at the top of the list. I once left Tignes on the last day of April and there was a huge dump that made me really sorry to go. Other glacier resorts such as Les Deux Alpes just do not match up for late season holidays. Because it is higher the snow is usually better than neighbouring Val D'Isere. You also ski Val on the same ticket of course. So you have access to one of the biggest resorts in the world. Nice runs for most levels - though absolute beginners can find better places ( La Plagne maybe)Lots of scope for off piste. No tree level skiing admittedly and it is no good for hotels. Self-catering or chalets are the order of the day in this resort. Apres ski is not lively like Val D'Isere but you do not get any yobboes or Hooray Henries at Tignes. Tignes lacks apres ski and diversions for non skiers but people who come here are enthusiasts who want to ski or board on the best snow in Europe, rather than people looking for a winter holiday.

| | Reviewed by: Marije, Advanced, from Holland Summary: I was in Tignes two times, both out of season: once in the autumn. (and enjoying my first powder days on the second day of october) And once in the summer. Both experiences have left me with a desire to go check out the immense terrain in the wintertime. It's the prices and the unfriendliness that keep me.

| | Reviewed by: David Nicholson, Advanced, from Bournemouth UK Summary: An excellent resort for strong skiers with some long challenging. Not so good in bad weather, and not really suitable for beginners or early intermediates (some of the green runs would be marked blue or even red elsewhere).
