Reviewed by: selleri, Skier

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
Good for both summer and winter. Winter season runs from mid Dec to 2nd week of May. Cross country skiing not great but touring skiing excellent. Considered the most amazing skiing in the Alps and is home to many extreme skiers/climbers. If you like off-piste this is heaven. You can check out snow fall before arriving. Summer is great for hiking and mountain climbing and biking, also for para-gliding. Lots of guides and courses. Not expensive but you need a car to really get the most out of it. Only one hour from Geneva airport.

Customer Service:
Mixed bag but on the whole not as friendly as in Switzerland. Lots of English speaking people though so you can always be served by them. NOt much luxury in the resort for the high end but lost for low and middle end.

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
went here jan 12, no snow. if you are going to go here make sure it has snowed alot. skiid on the trails, lots of rocks. the trails are steep and slick and long.grand montats is scarey steep, didn't go off piste much i:e rocks. brevent was cool though, good trails decent food. I can only imagine what this place is like after big snowfalls, hire a guide and tell him to take it easy, black runs are like the sickest double diamonds you have ever seen, i never got past the reds. take out the insurance, its 2 dollars and will cover the cost of a rescue as in helicopters. these resorts are for good skiers, out their you are on your own, do not ski alone, if you get hurt you will need some one to get help, these areas ar huge. the town of chaminox is cool, lots of bars things to buy, Austria it aint, the party is pretty mellow, you'll be so tired it won't matter.

Reviewed by: Brian Nichols, Advanced, from Highland Falls, NY USA

Summary:
I will think twice about returning. If you go plan to spend at least 5 days there so you can hope for good weather and less avalanche danger.
But be assured...when it is good, it is the best.
