| | Reviewed by: Andy g, Intermediate, from UK Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: This place is truely huge an average skiier could have a weeks fun JUST on the Courchevel side and not even touch the other valleys. Myself and friends skiied there and only got time to spend 1/2 a day in Val thorens/les menuire. Going back this year to la tania having spent last year in 1850. 1850 night life was o.k however we spent much of our time in our chalet due to skiing too hard. Similar Products Used: None

| | Reviewed by: TobyM, Advanced, from London Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Winge Winge how can you winge....this place has the most extensive sking in the WORLD. With a 3 Valley's pass you can chose from 140 odd lifts. The ques only appear during French and English half terms (which happen on the same week) and to be honest the only ques are on the popular lifts towards 1850, get high. As for off piste, if you don't know courchevel you won;t find it, (Lets leave it that way) ask the barman in Le Jump (Jimbo) slip him a few francs, he'll show you. Of buy yourself the 3 valleys of piste bible.....over 200 pages...anough for a months holiday! Similar Products Used: None

| | Reviewed by: janey c, Advanced, from England Summary: As you can tell we really appreciated the night life! But the skiing was wonderful too. I reckon most standards are catered for because of the added benefit of the 3 valleys interlocking. Anyone above beginner should opt for the three valley pass as this allows miles of fabulous skiing and boarding. We went over Christmas and the general concensus was it has to be done again. The whole resort makes such an effort to be festive and I bet this continues the whole season. 1850 is the most expensive but the best.

| | Reviewed by: Jeff, Intermediate, from Palo Alto, CA, USA Summary: Well, I don't mean to be negative about Courchevel but it is my least favorite resort in Europe. Sure, the slopes are well-groomed, snow record is good, but you expect more from the self-proclaimed non plus ultra of ski resorts. Whereas other areas of France have charm to spare and give you local flavor, sking in France seems bland and utilitarian. Apres-ski was particularly lamentable, it cannot compare with Austrian resorts such as St. Anton, Soelden, or Bad Hofgastein. Also, everything in Courchevel was groomed, so I could not venture off-piste as easily as I might in the above-mentioned resorts. Moreover, the slopes were very crowded; some other elite resorts limit ticket sales to keep customers happy despite high prices. In sum, I cannot justify a trip to Europe to ski Courchevel, and I love skiing in Europe. If the sole focus of your trip is skiing, the Rockies provide a better alternative even when you consider the outrageous lift prices. The three stars represent a general rating; if you take the hype surrounding Courchevel into account, the rating would be lower.
