| | Reviewed by: Steve Hill, Advanced, from Bristol, England Summary: Good for families. If you and your group are 'beer monsters' (like mine), don't come here unless you really can't get anywhere else. It's a slightly cheaper resort than the others in France, but we wish we had booked earlier and gone somewhere else. Nice to be able to go straight to the bar after a day's blasting down the slopes.

| | Reviewed by: Ian, Advanced, from London Summary: La Tania is a small town at the bottom of Courchevel valley that was originally built for the excess capacity for the large ski competitions often run in the valley, so the town has excelent access to the main resort and is still small. The buses run to the main resort every hour, but the best lift if town is here and takes you up to a wonderful restaurant on the top of the peak and then you can ride down into 1850 in around 10 minutes....very nice.
This is arguably my favourite part of the resort and has cheaper shops, great eateries (although not that many of them) and is very quaint. However, you have to get up to the main resort if you want to ride the more advanced slopes as there is little off piste directly around here, as the runs are cut through the trees and you could not easily ride off piste in the same way. Having said that, the two runs home are great and wide and scenic and you have access to the whole of the three valleys. The resort is best if there is good snow as this part is very low and can get really icy or barren if the snowfall doesn't come. However, all in all, the most tanquil part to stay in Couchevel and the cheapest by a huge margin!
