| | Reviewed by: S Stemo, Intermediate, from Germany Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: It was our first time skiing in Switzerland and we had a great time. It was good enough that we went ahead and booked another weekend for next month! There are no slopes in Lauterbrunnen but it is in a central location to easily catch a train that will take you to any of the three major slopes in the Jungrau region. When you get your ticket it is good for all three areas. Of the three slopes (First, Kleine Scheidegg, Murren) we spent our time on the middle slope Kleine Scheidegg. Although it had not snowed there for over three weeks we found the slopes to be mostly well groomed with a few worn or icy areas. The lift lines were relatively short (compared to Garmish) with a variety of different types of slopes to choose from. Allot of the skiing was above the tree line so there were many people skiing off piste with no problems at all. Terrain was varied with both smooth straight down slopes to challenging mogul fields. Most of the slopes we skied were geared to the intermediate skier. There were only a few black runs that we saw. This is Switzerland so there are no real bargains but the local people are very nice and seem to appreciate the business. When we return we are going to try to hit the other two slopes but if we don’t it will still be a worthwhile trip.
