Summary: Just returned from my third trip, five days skiing this time. Really lovely town with plenty to do, good food and drink, and a train right to the Hamenkahnbahn (main lift). This is a typical gigantic set of interconnected ski areas with dozens of lifts. Terrain is good up to high intermediate; anything resembling a Rocky Mountain double black is tough to find. Great fun for wide open cruising. Try the ski safari, from one end of the valley to the other. It takes all day and in good weather it's fun, a good workout, and terrific views.

Summary: Kitzbuhel is an absolutely beautiful town and well worth a visit. The slopes are varied and most are quite wide. They are very good with beginners and don't complain about stopping ski lifts should someone need help. We had three teachers in total over the week, from the Reith Ski School. Manwell, our first teacher was excellent, the other two were a complete waste of time. We stayed just outside Kitzbuhel in The Bruggerhof Hotel, which was very nice. We read reports that it was a little dated, but what do people expect? It had a wooden interior like most Austrian hotels and would be better described as cosy. We were too busy enjoying ourselves to worry about things like that. A taxi to the town centre and the ski lifts was 9 Euros each way, which isn't bad and takes four to five minutes. If I was to return, I would definitely stay in the centre, just for that extra freedom of not keep having to call cabs, even though they were prompt. If I went again, I would go two or three weeks earlier. We went on 1 March and the weather and the snow was varied, whereas the previous three weeks had been sunny every day.
