Summary: Typical Italian family resort. Skiing area is among the biggest in the Apenines: 50 km of runs. Some modern lifts, some older ones. Cabin lift closed for rest of season (2002-2003) because of fire. Next season (2003-2004) three new lifts. Lift tickets cheaper than in Alpes. Usually good snow conditions. No après-ski. Beautiful scenery (Monte Cimone). Resort is very busy during weekends, but quite from Monday to Friday. Cities in Tuscany (Firenze, Siena and Pisa) look quite close on a map, but one has to reckon with 1,5 to 2 hours driving.

Summary: The resorts on the Italian Appenines are far less well known than those in the Alps and Dolomites, but have a charm of their own. The drive up to the resort is spectacular from the moment you leave the airport, and why not visit Florence and Pisa too?
We love Tuscany so much we're buying a home there!
