| | Reviewed by: Naomi R Wall, Double Diamond Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: I am very fMILIAR WITH mT. hERMON, THE sKI RESORT, SINCE IN 1968 I TOOK OVER THE (SO CALLED SKI SCHOOL) and later on the ski rental shop. I also was the first one to teach the IDF to ski in 1973 on mt Hermon. It was a tough area to ski and teach, since every Israeli thought he was a ski expert and took the trails from the top with the most devastating results. It was an interesting time to work there for 10 yrs

| | Reviewed by: Israeli, Advanced Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: This resort is incredible. At first sight, you wonder if you are in slops in Europe or in the holyland.I am 15, I went to this resort to see how the ski was.
Well eventually the place itself is of a rare beauty however there are no trees at all, just rocks. When you arrive the place is rather scrapy , there is a fast-food and the place where you take ski is old and dirty. But when you go outside, you enjoy being in israel.I was so hot I skied in jeans and I have no idea how the snow was still there. From the departure point there are plenty of skilift which have no particular interest but as soon as the slops get more difficult there is no one(israelis do not know how to ski so they basically stay where it is easy.
When there is no crowd it is fantastice, the view is terrific and the ski is as good as in Europe.
Skilift are slow and old but I had a lot of pleasure going skiing in ISRAEL.

| | Reviewed by: yair_carel, Intermediate, from Kfar Saba, Israel Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: The only place in Israel, and the only place with snow in Israel, so there are lot of people that come just to see and play with the snow.
This year the season was relatively long with good snow.
If you avoid the first weekends of the season there is a great chance you will have lot of space to ski, with no long lift queues, just come early to avoid the traffic jams in the entrance, this is because all people come for one day only so it is wise to come before 8:00 when the lifts open.
The best trail is the Sion, it is long and with a lot of fun parts, and many side tracks.
It is important to be patient because the lifts are slow, so if it is a busy day you might have to wait a long time.
The place is overpriced, and the managment not very professional so be prepared to see some lifts out of order, and pistes closed because they were not prepared in time.
At best can be great skiing, at worst a lesson on how not to run a bussiness.
Be patient on the slopes as there are many "experts" who think they can ski without getting lessons, so you always have to slalom aroud human pilons.
Well if you happen to be in Israel in the winter (I hope this time of conflict will end soon), give it a chance.
The ski hire has lot of equipment, but part of it is very outdated so come early!!!
Also bring your food because the food is over priced and lousy.
