Summary: The resort has since been renamed to Mzaar and has expanded to 18 lifts (please update if possible)
prices are good... 14 to 56 us dollars, depending on the package and the day.
The resort is only 1 hour from the capital.
It is not too packed, and on weekdays there is virtually no waiting, especially on advanced slopes.
The snow is not as powdery as canadian snow though... because of the low temperatures... and the slopes close at about 4 am...
The resort is virtually free of trees (naturally... they didnt cut down any trees), and you get a great view from the highest peak (or so im told)
Very good for the middle eastern standads!
Customer Service: Not great... very basic. people manning the lifts are just villagers who have been doing this job for ages...
But i dont think any hotel employee could survive up there.

zaarour (smaller and cheaper resort in lebanon)

Summary: I come every winter from France. The weather is amazing, the tan that you have is the best, you can also ski in a T-shirt.
And every year, Faraya is expanding!

Summary: I was transferred with my work to the Lebanon a year ago. I was not sure what to expect, but I was amazed. This is one of the most fascinating countries I have visited. The snow resorts are excellent. I have never had a better tan in winter before, but what do you expect when snowboarding on the Mediterrenean.
