Summary: Great resort for people in Benelux, Germany and France who do not want to travel a great distance. A must for people who want to board in as many countries as possible, as this is the only resort in The Netherlands.

Summary: This is just a review to give you what's typical about skiing in different european countries: France: great ski, my favorite resort "les trois vallées" (eg Val Thorens, 600km "approachable" on the same day), pistes with signs "don't even sent your worst mother-in-law down here unless don't want to see again". France is a country where there are not so much "place"-rules, you can ski on the piste, off-piste (deepsnow, between the trees), without police chasing you. It's no problem. Modern equiment.
Suisse & Austrich: smaller resorts than france (ussually around 100km), stricter. You can't go off-piste. The houses are nicer though.
Italy: resort for the easy ski. Even smaller skiresorts compensate by offering very cheap sauna and others.
Belgium, netherlands: to be clear: you can only ski indoor in these countries. I wouldn't go on a holliday there just to ski indoor.
Germany:tooflat
And the other european countries are cheap, but not less safer
My Favorite: france
