| | Reviewed by: Emma, Beginner Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Don't pay a dime, even a nickel, to go to this dangerous and deceptive place. The lifts are in disrepair, the 'ski patrol' is nonexistent, the facilities are just awful (with filthy 'restrooms' and a 'lodge' full of used napkins and littered tables), and the staff is uninterested and often rude.
One lift broke down 3 times the day we were there and was actually shut down only after the third breakdown. We sat on that lift halfway up the mountain motionless for half an hour -- no one even tried to let the scores of people on the lift know what was happening. For children, especially, this was dangerous and unpleasant. By the time we got off the lift, the ride to the top of the tiny hill, with its three delays, had taken more than 45 minutes. The Powder Ridge 'staff' had not a word to say about the fiasco -- leading one to suppose that kind of thing must happen all the time.
I saw two different renters whose skis popped off in the course of an ordinary ride down the hill and one child who'd been given skis of two different lengths -- all thanks to the great 'technicians' in the rental area.
For a better time, ride a toboggan down a driveway. For better safety, try walking tightropes.

| | Reviewed by: go_eat_paiste, Intermediate, from Rochester, NY Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: tiny tiny tiny. But somehow they manage to have an awesome terrain park!?!? The cost is definitely nice, snow is good when they get it. I actually boarded in 2 feet of ungroomed powder once here and it was the most beautiful blissful thing ive done.

| | Reviewed by: Bob, Advanced, from Branford,CT Summary: Powder Ridge is a great place to learn since there is no steep terrain. The snowmaking is EXCELLENT (since it really never snows there). Good grooming. The terrain park and half pipe can keep you entertained for a while. This is a great local mountain if you live close by, and need to get that "fix" but you don't have the time or cash to go to Vermont, and at $150.00 for a season pass in September, it's the cheapest ride in town.
