| | Reviewed by: katelyn , Double Diamond Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Oh man, Otis Ridge. Where do i begin?? Alright i will start off by stating i have been skiing at otis ridge for about 13 years. This is quite alot of years to a 16 year old. Some of my friends at school ask me,"Dont you ever get bored of the same trails?" i reply, "nope not at all" Each year my friends and i find some new facination that keeps us occupied through out the season or until we master what ever it is. Last year my facination was Crazy Larry's trails. These are trails only the locals know about and boy are they fun. One of the things i love most about Otis is its atmosphere. We are just one big down to earth caring family here at otis. I have grown up here in Otis and Otis Ridge is my second home in the winter. I raced on their race team for 8 years and now i am working at the ski camp and instructing along side of people who taught me how to ski. The atmosphere here at Otis is something i have yet to find somewhere else on the east coast. Similar Products Used: None

| | Reviewed by: NEskier4ever, Double Diamond, from New London, CT Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Otis is a small resort in southern mass. Just slightly over the border from CT it attracts mostly locals, but can also bring in the faithful and the traditional. Otis, little known fact, has the oldest ski school in the nation, as well as the oldest overnight ski camp. Both provide amazing lessons. Yes, if you are one of those skiers, the type that spends a billion dollars on the best equipment, dresses like a million dollar prick, can't stand mountains that aren't the size of killington, and you like the overpriced showoff glitz atmosphere then don't go! But don't knock it for being small. This is where you should be sending your kid to learn, its cheap, classes are small, and they care. Its not run by a major corporation producing cookie cutter lessons. These people care!
I'm going to second that there is no lift line, unless Butternut breaks down and sends their customers down. I will argue with the four main trails thing. I believe there is more to skiing Otis then four main trails, if you are creative, you can up that to about six, and some of it can be challenging. Still, I will remain that Otis is for learning mostly, then you can take your skills and show up all the rich fools at the bigger mountains. Just check it out, otisridge.com, its not for experts, but its the small town caring and atmosphere that makes this place amazing.
Another note: the local talent there is amazing. Some of the instructors and most locals have all raced at some point. Some go on to Division 1 racing, others stay around and instruct. Snowboarders can perform awe inspiring tricks worthy of competitions. (I know some who do compete) So if you think you can't go here because you will be the best, you're wrong. | | Reviewed by: Scott ROy, Intermediate, from Wilton Summary: Otis Ridge is the Bershire's hidden gem. You can get in some serious snow time here. No lift lines (only one real lift!) but plenty of terrain, a couple of hits, and 4 real trail options. This place is fun, and for $10 night ridin' it can't be beat!
