Summary:
I used to live in the Mass area and skied here a lot when I want to just cruise. There really is not anything challenging here, rather it is a good family place run by nice folks. Trails are generally, wide open cruisers accessible from the top.

Butternut is without a doubt a nice little ski resort where after you have gone once everyone knows your name.

Summary:
This is a good place to learn to ski, there is a lot of beginner terrain and a good ski school. Once you learn, however, get the hell out!!!
