Reviewed by: Panda, Snowboarder

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
This place was horrible!!! False advertisment. On their website they have a deal it states "Enroll a friend in Welcome to Snow and you get your lift ticket for the day for FREE"

http://www.ragged-mt.com/ski/special_deals.htm

I had called twice before my trip up there to confirm that I only had to enroll in the $55 package to get a free lift ticket. After driving 2.5 hrs to Ragged Mountain I was told that you have to enroll in the $105 dollar package!! Needless to say, My friends and I were very angry.

The Lesson was horrible, we were basically only taught how to strap into our snowboards.

Customer Service:
Customer service is not very helpful. You will get different answers from different people depending on which day you call. Some days you'll get the truth and some days just a lot of garbage.

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
This is a new Ragged Mountain! I used to come here a few years ago, but this place has really changed for the better. There must be at least 2 to 3 times the number of trails than the last time I came. They seem to have brand new lifts and one of them seats 6 people. The price was reasonable for the offering. The drive was significantly less than going to other places farther north and that translates into more ski time for me!

Although Ragged Mountain’s elevation is less than some of the other mountains, the vertical drop wasn’t too different. Besides I think I prefer much of the terrain over places like Wildcat Mountain where I used to go.

If you haven’t been to Ragged Mountain in a while, believe me, this a totally different ski resort than the last time you went. You should definitely try it again!

Customer Service:
I had to rent some equipment for my son and was pleasantly surprised. The skis seemed brand new and the boots were decent.

Reviewed by: Gregg , Double Diamond, from Mass

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
This a small relatively crappy mountain, which in itself wouldn't be bad..just sell it for what it is. What I'm complaining about is the ridiculous lies on their snow report...when I went they claimed a four to five foot base!!! There were bare spots everywhere, which with that claim just wouln't be remotely possible. I know that every resort lies on their snow reports but this was obsurd. Yes, we are having a crappy season this year, but even Killington doesn't have the balls to claim that large of a base. To stretch the truth by an inch or two, I can handle, but by feet??

Outside of that complaint... if you're a beginner it's fine, if you live near by it's fine, if you want a challenge it stinks. It's a mountain with pratically no pitch to it, the steepest part might be the dismount off the lift. Another thing I couldn't figure out was why they cut their trails the way they did. The tougher trails are cut traversing the fall line, which makes them a few feet longer but annoying to ski.

Reviewed by: Joe G., Intermediate, from New Hampshire

Summary:
This is by far the WORST mountain i have ever been to. Some one refered to it as New Hampshire's best kept secret and there's a reason for this. Ragged Mountain is trying to keep secret the fact that this is the worst mountain ever. I dont know even where to start on this place. I waited an hour for rentals, and all the people working the rental place were real jerks. They kept yelling at customers to shut the door to keep the cold out, even while there were another 20 people right on the otherside waiting to get in. DO NOT RENT ANYTHING from here. I repeat DO NOT RENT ANYTHING! I rented a pair of snowboard boots and started laughing. They were the worst pair of boots i have ever seen. They were about 10 years old, looked like bowling shoes, and had the support of jack squat.
When I finally got my rentals, I was greeted by half hour lines for the lift. So instead of waiting I went to use the bathroom which was more like a porta potty. It was dirtiest and smallest bathroom this side of the Mississipi. How can they expect to accomodate all these people?
After going back out, and waiting out the line, we began our ascension of the mountain. The chairlift was extremely slow as it was stopping every 2 seconds, literally. I was so heated once I reached the top that I was saying that people better be dying up there becasue there is no excuse for this. As I got closer, I realized that they had to stop the lift every single time some one got off becasue people were falling all over the place. I figured the lift couldnt be that bad so when it was my turn to go I was sadly mistaken. To get off the lift, you literallty had to jump 2 and a half feet to the ground. They were shoveling snow onto it but it did nothing, I fell so hard and landed on the guy next to me. I was really really MAD. They should have put a "CHOPPER DROP AHEAD" sign up, becasue thats literally what it was (Speed Mountain Triple Chair).
After going through all of that, I was finally able to make my first run. It sucked, the rental boots I was wearing killed my feet for lack of support, and the whole trail sucked. After getting to the bottom and seeing the half hour wait, we just said "Screw this" and went to the green cirlce at the bottom which had some jumps. SO for the rest of the day we stayed there hitting jumps until we saw some kid go bombing down and get cut off. He went flying over a rock off to the side and slamming hard face first from a 6-7 ft drop. I thought he broke both his legs as he was screaming and crying for help immediatly. We told the lift operator he needs help bad, and we THOUGHT he took care of it. See, we already had no respect for this lift operator as we had previously seen him laughing as the children we piling on top of each other on the drop off point. He made no attempt to stop the lift even after four kids we laying in froint of the steep slope. He finally stopped it after a kid got his jacket caught and was dragged around the lift and back down the other side.
Anyways, so back to the kid who hit the rock. So we thought the lift operator was going to send help to the kid who nearly killed himself. He didnt. It took friggen 35 minutes for ski patrol to respond to the injured boy. 35 minutes!!!!! Would you want to have your kid in agonizing pain for 35 minutes on the top of a mountain? No way.

I have so much more I want to say about this mountain, but am just so tired of thinking about it it makes me heated. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!! IT IS THE WORST PLACE EVER. Its 37 dollars for a reason. That extra 10 bucks off the "normal" big mountain price is becasue of the lack of facilities, snow making and staff. The staff is a piss poor excuse for human beings.
