Summary:
We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The skiing conditions and scenery were excellent. Our family experience (3-days) was excellent.

Reviewed by: Michael Nixon, Advanced, from CT, MA, VT - now in Lyon, FRANCE

Summary:
The thing I like best about Bolton Valley is that you've never heard of it. It often feels like you have the resort to yourself. Liftlines are rare, even during weekends and holidays. Although it is only twenty minutes from Burlington, Bolton feels like a remote old-timey resort at the end of the road. The highest base elevation in Vermont delivers the cold air that turns the slightest precipitation into the finest powder. One will appreciate the rare, westerly exposure of this resort which provides an abundance of sunshine, and a stunning view of the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain. Its exposure to prevailing Canadian storm patterns and the Champlain valley enables Bolton to pick up snow from all points of the compass, as well as locally driven lake-effect snow. Trails are short, but fall-line cutting and waterfall pitches provide technical challenge and interest. If you find the glades, you are sure to find untracked stashes of powder days after a snowfall. The pipe and park are variable - last year the pipe was narrow and steep, but still had some excellent days. Some good hits in the park, but could improve. I heartily give Bolton five stars for value, and three stars overall - but only because the runs are short in comparison to other resorts.

Reviewed by: Kamikazi, DoubleDiamond, from Burlington, VT

Summary:
The place is a bit small, but the night skiing is great. Cheap, and short liftlines, like skiing's supposed to be.
For some real enjoyment, try figure 11s down spillway and twice as nice (under the quad). If you have buddies with radios, bombing solitude glades is killer. Just drop into the streambed and rail. Make sure you sent a runner ahead to clear the trail. Once you start moving, there isnt enough room to stop. On the family side, lots of nice, sane trails, too.

And if you got up, do big rock, under the main lift. You'll know it when you see it.

Summary:
I posted a huge review but it didn't go through so now I have to type it again but its worth it.

The 3 best trails in New England: "Devils Playground" (AMAZING awesome glades and drops and chutes its like heaven with snow)... "The Preacher" extremely narrow (like the width of a car in some places), steep, and full of powder and bumps and drops! ... "Lost Boys" can you say perfect glades? even complete with a steep upper section and a couple little ice waterfalls to jump!

Great place these trails are awesome memories, so glad to see the place is reopened!

Oh yeah also a great family resort :-)
