Summary:
Mad River is a boarder-free paradise, where attitude and imbecile's aren't tolerated (see boarder comments below). Yes boarding's an Olympic sport, as is syncronized swimming, but that's not allowed either.
"Skiing - if it was easy, they'd call it boarding".
Mad River offers a minimal amount of grooming and snowmaking, but a maximum of challenge. It's the "old Vermont", with the slow chairs, including a single chair, and great tree skiing.
It also has the most honest snow reports on the planet - check them out to see what's really going on in Vermont.
Mad River Glen is the Vermont version of Arapahoe Basin and Alta, that everyone needs to try at least once.
There's plenty of places to go to pose in Vermont and elsewhere - but if you're going to ski for real, in a wonderful boarder free environment, MRG's hard to beat.

Summary:
mad river glen is a great ski location when you come for SKING if you like sitting in a fancy resort all day this is deffinately not for you, I am only 13 years old. even though this is not the easiess place to learn to ski i would not have chosen anything else, it is a very challenging and has diverse conditions from cruisers to thick glade s and also some of the greatest bumps on the east coast, despite them being in sloppy paterns, there is a great feeling skiing at mad river because it is a small place and there is a strong feeling of community mostly locals and regulars go here. the most challenging skiing in the east is at mrg

Summary:
The best! Nothing compares. The slopes are not crowded at all and the chairlifts take no time to get onto. The ride up may be slow but on the way down the time on the chairlift is made up for in the first foot.
