Summary:
Mt. Snow is the best resort in Vermont south of Killington (or Magic if they have natural snow). For bunnies there's Carinthia and Sunbrook. Intermediates can make believe they're Bode Miller on the front main face, and the North face has Ripcord, the steepest slope in southern Vermont at 37 degrees. Also the glades on the other side of the North Face will get your attention as they are quite tight, and steep in some parts - good practice for going to Mad River or Steamboat.
Yes, if you take the main high-speed lift from the bottom the lines can get long, so don't - stay to one of the other areas mentioned before. In 25 years of skiing Mt. Snow, I've never seen more than a 5 minute line at the North Face.
Mt. Snow has a nice variety of terrain, and a minimum of posers, who show up routinely at places like Stratton, to make believe they can ski or show off their brand new skis or whatever. Also, not as many young kids in the way as Okemo, which touts itself as a family hill.
With the American Skiing Company season pass starting at $350 it's really a no-brainer (unless you're a boarder, then get someone to explain it to you).

Summary:
I went to Mount Snow in the beginning of March last year. My first day of skiing on a Friday was enjoyable, for it wasnt very crowded and the snow was in good condition. Unfortunately, Saturday and Sunday were completely opposite because the crowds and liftlines were some of the worst I had experienced, (as bad as Pennsylvania lift lines). The trails all have a similar feel to them as well, and after a day of skiing, the resort became very repetitive. Many of the runs are wide and straight and not very interesting. There are some very difficult bump runs, but the rest of the resort is basically the same pitch and straight. I would recomend this resort to daytrippers who like to cruise, but if you want to spend more then a few days at a resort, go farther north.

Summary:
went to mount snow on presidents day weekend (freakin cold), and st patricks day weekend. On each occasion, the snow was great, not icy like hunter or windham, lots of coverage (exceptional snow season, so dont know what its like in a normal year). I went on very busy weekends, and I did not think the crowd was that bad. Sure, if you hang out at the faux-village, the main lift up the front can get pretty busy. But there is ways around it. North face, carenthia, and sunny brook were empty. Lots of good riding on those. Excellent place to snowboard. Nice and wide, lots of blue runs, which are good for most snowboarders. The north face is steeper, with more bumps, and it was uncrowded (rode lift by myself most of the day).

Overall, great eastern mountain. Now people have to remember, this is relative to the area, and the other resorts. Of course its not as good as CO, CA, and Whistler, but that would be silly to compare Mt Snow to anything in the west.

As far as costs, Mt Snow was not cheap, but truth be told, Vermont skiing is really expensive. Stratton is much more expensive. I find VT more expensive than CA, all things considered.

Summary:
id have to say that this is one of my favorite mountains. the snow is beautiful, the grooming is beatiful, the lifts are awesome, tons of trails, nice lodge, nice girls haha, nice bar... the only single downfall is its like 50 bux for a ticket, and sometimes it does get crowded, but other than that... awesome... the MULTIPLE terrain parks are also awesome.

Summary:
Great Place to ski. Sometimes the snow is a little scarce (last year) but the snowmaking team does a great job. Good lift service, but long lines none the less. Parks are nice, if crowded.
