Summary: Sugarloaf is a real SKIERS mountain. Fortunately, it's far enough away from Boston/NYC/Montreal that only relatively serious winter-sports people go there. Truly exceptional level of skiing ability from almost everyone there. Very few knuckleheads in expensive clothing snowplowing down the middle of the trail. Great terrain, great lodges, fun people, outstanding snow and LOOOOOOOONG season. Put up with the long ride from anywhere and you're in for a treat.

Summary: I love this place! There is terrain here I can only dream about going down, but plenty that is within my ability. Easy to get it lots of vertical in a day. No snobbery like many of the destination resorts out west. Snow is usually plentiful but they make a ton of it if it isn't. Except for an occasional holiday weekend, lift lines are rare (or at least avoidable). Best all around Eastern resort in my opinion.

Summary: The slopes are great too but its people like the one below me that ruin places like this. Grow up it's a new age, if you havent noticed most of the new skiers are more influence by boarders. Not only in the way they ride but in the way the equipment is made. Your a dieing breed my friend, you wont last long.

Summary: Well, pesonally I dont subcribe to all the looser snowboarders ratings. Most people just rave about the park...the park this...the park that. WE ALL KNOE ABOUT THE FREAKING PARK PEOPLE! Sugarloaf offers alot more then a stupid park. I'll just note right now that I am an anit-snowboarder and while i think Free-Stylers are impressive when they have talent, I disagree with the ones who spend 100% of thier time in the park. The park sucks. All parks suck, I hate parks. Look at the Shane McConkey and Glen Plake way. They are two of the best skiers I know of. They dont race, however thier true talent lies in Free-Riding. Shane throws in the rippingist tricks into his runs and Glen...well, how many times to you get to see a freak with a mohawk ripping down the cliffs of the big western mountains. Follow them people...Not the Freestylers of Snowboarders. They are the kinds of people you should be idolizing. If not them, then at least idolize some one like Herman Maier. Sugarloaf is a resort for the posers. It rocks totally when you are skiing the powder and bumps, but if you hang in the park you are a big poser. Hint: Justin Moore. I like to ski the Back Side Snow Fields, Bubblecuffer, Winters Way, Max Hedrome glades, Rookie River (AKA Hell Highway), And some other back country places I know of (Cough, Cough...The Sorce...Cough) The Waterfall route to some. SO SNOWBOARDERS ARE LOOSERS AND SKIERS ROCK! SKI THE TREES< SKI THE SNOWFIELDS! AND ENJOY TACO LAND!!! (area off the backside outa bounds) WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! GO SUGARLOAF!

Summary: This mountain is definitely difficult with so many trails (126) you won't know where to start. They have three different Terrain Parks for riders of different levels and the superpipe is just plain BIG and sweet. Sugarloaf has the only above tree line skiing in the East coast and when your up there you'll appreciate the view. If you think your tough the ride down the back side of the mountain (provided it's open) and your in for one hell of a sick ride. Basically it's your tipical east coast style riding with sick a$$ trails, sweet Terrain parks, a superpipe and cold weather to go along with it.
