Reviewed by: FSUGator, Double Diamond, from Woodstock, GA

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
For NC, it's not bad overall. Limited number of runs, but the ones that they have that are open are good (but short). Would be twice as good if they could make snow on the "natural snow only" trails. This would open the resort up quite a bit. Overall, not a bad place to go if you don't feel like driving up to Beech/Sugar or flying out west.

Summary:
I used to board on the rockies so I'm used to having high expectations. But here in the Southeast, the best we've got is probably Sugar Mountain in NC. Meggie Valley's runs are extremely short, it's overcrowded with beginner snowboarders who just sit on the slope most of the time. Poor quality rental equippment, boards not waxed at all, dull edges. But I'll give it a 3 cuz it's the cheapest around NC, SC, GA area.

Summary:
Small but cool. Lots of beginners to play Frogger with. Hit it after a long cold spell and they'll have some awesome packed powder and a HUGE table-top in the "terrain park" (only 1 hit and a rail). If you're not a stuck up snob and you just want to ride and play for the sheer pleasure of crusin' on your board... then you'll like Cataloochee. Otherwise, go back to Aspen :-)

not too bad for being only 2.5 hours from home. the runs could be longer but what do you expect... it's not the rockies :+)
