Reviewed by: twogiraffe, Double Diamond

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
Liberty offers an opportunity for a quick ski fix for those in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore metro area. It is not cheap to ski here for what they offer. But then again, the value of Ski Liberty is much associated with it's proximity to the D.C. metro area.

The cost of ski here is a bit steep for the terrain it offers.

The mountain offers adequate challenge for low-intermediates. There are 3 runs designated as doubl-black-diamond on the backside. These are very short bump runs though. Barely enough to get a rhythm and you're done. They're double-black because are the steepest runs on this mountain. They are not truely expert-only terrain. If you're an advanced skier looking for challenging terrain, you will not find it here.

For those advanced skiers and boarders who vist Liberty, try to appreciate it for it's easy access as an opportunity to work on fine tuning your turns and work on fundamental subtleties in your technique, such as more evenly shaped turns, better pressure control on your edges, and more precise steering. So when you go to a big mountain you will realize that your time spent at Liberty is paying off.

Summary:
My Style of Snowboarding is BIg Air, and Pipe and some Technical Jibbing, and Liberty has nothing of the sort to mess around with. The pipe is horrible, it's not made like a regualar Pipe. Their pipe is cut out of the "ground" and they dump snow over top of it. They need too put some mini hand rails in the park or box's and make some of their kickers bigger. I really wish they would expan their terrain, make their park diffrent, new pipe or new park lay out, something to make that place better then it is now..

Summary:
Overall if u want a place to go for a daytrip, and ur close enough, just go. Its no better then roundtop and whitetail's snow conditions are worse. If your are a beginner or intermediate skiier its great, u wont notice a problem. If your are advanced or expert ur gonna want some harder slopes and they just arent there. Just stick to the backside and u'll have a fun time. Only thing else i can say is watchout for the prices...they are not a fun suprise when u get there.
