| | Reviewed by: drpauls, Advanced Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Overpriced, overcrowded, Virginia skiing. If it's close in proximity then, mid-week, mid-winter (provided there is more snow than ice) it may be servicable. Similar Products Used: None

| | Reviewed by: Stu, DoubleDiamond, from Hartwood, VA Summary: This was a wonderful past season at Wintergreen, in fact the longest in their history. For a Mid Atlantic Skier, it's well worth a two or three hour drive.

| | Reviewed by: JINC, DoubleDiamond, from Apex, NC Summary: A few points: 1. Lodging was unwilling to cut me a deal for a mid-week stay. I would have paid up to $70/night to stay at the resort, but they wouldn't do it - they wanted their $140/night or no deal. I ended up staying in Wilkesboro (?), 25 minutes away, for $50/night - figure it out, saved almost $200 over 2 nights. 2. They have a GREAT never skied 1 hour group lesson for kids - $6! Gives daddy enough time to go hit a few runs before returning to pick up the little one. Plus their beginner slopes were a great length for her to learn on -Dobie and Diamond Hill runs. 3. They really need to leave one or 2 blacks ungroomed and let the bumps form. 4. The Highlands area is a great pod of black diamond runs. 1003 vert is a good run, especially in the Mid-Atlantic area. It CAN go pretty fast, though, when ungroomed and you're just top to bottoming it with GS turns. 5. So uncrowded on Monday and Tuesday, that I could have made my own bump field on Big Acorn or Surprise (?). The runs are so short that I got in about 5 runs during my daughter's one hour class. 6. The terrain park is pretty good for a small ski area.
