Reviewed by: Mike, Beginner, from Alexandria, VA

Summary:
We took lessons at Bryce on a Friday morning(slow). The instructor ran through the lesson as fast as he could. We didn't get a whole lot out of it. The following weekend, we arrived at 10:30am on Saturday, and they were out of boards. Easy slopes to learn on, but I will now go elsewhere.

Reviewed by: John Makuch, Intermediate, from Vienna, VA

Summary:
I didn't like it. Way dinky. Rental shop not run efficiently; it took us over an hour to get rentals for our kids. They gave my 9 year old son a snowboard that was way too big (137 cm - even with the top of his head) and had strap-in bindings from 1987 that no 9 year old (and few adults) could operate by himself. We were able to exchange the setup for an appropriately sized board with step-ins without much hassle though.

Their "ski-wee" program for children seemed to be a babysitting service with a bit of skiing thrown in. My daughter learned nothing in it.

My son took a private snowboard lesson from Otto on The Simpsons and learned little to nothing. A waste of $44.

The beginner slopes are 25 yards long with tow ropes. It was quicker to unstrap and hike back up with the kids than to use the rope.

And to top it all off it was expensive.

If you live in Northern Va, go to Whitetail, it's about the same distance away. but their slopes and prgrams for children are much better.

Summary:
Overall, this is a minimal ski resort. If you're local, it's worth it.
