Summary:
What a dump! I can't believe the lines at this place. There were a total of 2 lifts running when I went, and each was insanely packed! This resort is right next to Canaan Valley, and isn't a bad resort for the area. However, it's in the middle of NOWHERE and the crowds are rediculous.

Summary:
I took a pack of 12 year old snow boarders up for President's weekend, but they got out of school a day early, so we did our skiing/boarding on Friday before the crowds arrived. Timberline is a pleasant place to ski with pretty decent layout and terrain considering the mid-Atlantic location. Like it's cousin next door, Canaan Valley, what is ranked as single and double diamond would probably not rank beyond blue/intermediate at larger New England and Rocky Mountain slopes, but it's a great place to keep one's skills in tone and polished if one has to live in the South. And it's an ego boost to ski a double black diamond confidently if you can't ski them at tougher resorts! ;)

Summary:
I really love this place. Get a rental unit near the slopes and go midweek to get the best experience. On weekends the lift lines get extremely long. Ski in the morning till 12 and then come back at 4 and ski into the night.
