Overall, I will continue to go to Alpine only because Brighton sucks, and I do not wish to drive 5 or so hours for nice boarding.

Summary:
I can honestly say that this place tears apart mt. brighton as far as the number of runs, crowd size, and difficulty of terrain, but it isn't the greatest. The lift ticket prices are way too steep (I went there tonight - 1/27/01 and it cost me $25 for a 3 to 11 session), the snow is terrible (it sucks when you wipe because of ice chunks everywhere), and the halfpipe is a joke. If you want to tear up a pipe, go to brighton. If long runs and short lines for chair lifts are your thing, go here. If you can go anywhere, do it.

Summary:
I live in wixom so i have a choice of going to either alpine or mt brighton. alpine is way better, but still terrible. i have been snowboarding for 5 years now i can be seen there at least twice a week. There is nowhere else around besides brighton which is worse. Well the only place you can really have any sort of fun is in the park. There is one maybe two jumps at any given time, but no more then two. and usually only one of them is worth hitting. The only times that i consider the jumps to be in good condition is on a day that they groom them. And believe me there is not many of these days. I think they only do it about once every three or four weeks. i am not lying. And if by chance you are there when they groom them. expect every snowboarder in the place to be lining up to hit it. Then you get the stupid people who want to show off and be cool but really dont know how to snowboard. They go off the jump get about 8.6 inches of air, fall flat on their and sit on the jump for 5 minutes holding everyone up. There is alot of punks too. People who have some skill but think they can push everyone around who cant do a backflip. it is crazy, a few days ago i was there and there was this like 11 year old kid and he was doing backflips and 540s and stuff like that, but he was an an. he was talking to everyone out there. Not me of course. They claim they got this pipe dragon to groom the pipe, which they do have but it sure doesnt groom the pipe. they will get some fool who doesnt knwo how to use it do the pipe and it always turns out like . So if yuo are planning on riding a half pipe think again. It is terrible. IF you are just looking for a place to hang out, have a little fun maybe practice some skills it is ok. Butif you are driving more then an hour to get here, dont waste your time. Certainly do NOT plan any sort of vacation at this place. oh and the lift operators at the park can be flipped out sometimes. making two dollars an hour shuting off the ripe whenever they feel, and bitching at the riders that are just trying to have fun. Overall the best place in the area but do not drive any longer then an hour to get there. that is for sure
