Reviewed by: Heather, DoubleDiamond, from Kingston, ON CA Summary: A skier for over 40 yrs., I've skied EVERYTHING from the Laurentians, to Sunshine, to La Piste Perdu at Val D, France, and 5 yrs skiing Colorado. Moved to Ont. five years ago, and haven't skied since. Was dragged to Calabogie for 2 for 1 day, and to my amazement, had a great time. Friendly, superb conditions (a great snow year in the east), parking close to the lifts, FREE parking, and the double diamonds (about a high intermediate elsewhere) are a nicely pitched pleasant ski. The length of run, top to bottom non-stop, is about what I'd do elsewhere before a break, so it was fine. The low altitude meant I could ski hard all day, and leave with lots of energy. For a jaded skier who has paid a fortune to park leagues from the lifts, and paid a fortune to stand in long lines at the high speed quads or gondolas, I found a lot to like skiing Ontario. Well done, Calabogie.
