Summary: This resort is now called Granite Peak. They have a high speed 6 chair detachable lift so there is very little waiting on line. They have good snowmaking, but they are icy spots if there has been no natural snow. Black Diamonds arae steep for midwest.
Summary: Ok here is the stuff-- Pure ice. THis resort was ice even when we got there at 9am before everyone else. Runs steep and short. Very unimpressed. Go to devilshead-- much longer runs never icey till at end of day.
I guess it did have fast lift lines but who cares - ice sucks-- THey added a bunch of runs this year and a bunch two years ago that makes 72 now but they are all steep / short with a long super flat part that sucks. I think they don't have enough cash left since adding all the runs to get more snowmakers.
I would also like to add that I went after a night of snow and it was still icey.. poor snowmaking abitliy ---!!!!
Summary: Quite a few of these reviews are from before the new owners revamped the resort and it now has 51 runs. There are tight steep black runs that will challenge almost any midwest skier. Was there March 2002,, nice base, always groomed and never waited more than 1 minute in any line. Son thought their half pipe was very good also.. This site needs to rename this resort to Granite Peak since this is the new name under the new owner who next year is opening even more runs.
Summary: This is a great resort for both beginners and advanced. There are many green runs that are perfect for first-timers. Watch out for the blue squares though, they are more like a weaker black diamond, and may be hard to handle for beginners. The black diamonds are challenging. *I dont know how to rate the value because i went for free*
