Reviewed by: sshipton, Beginner, from Palatine, Illinois, USA

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
My son received a snowboard for Christmas and we promised him a trip to a ski resort. The four of us had never skied before. So we decided to take a trip to Mt. Horeb and try the Tyrol Basin. We had a good first time skiing experience. Friends had told me at any ski resort, on a holiday weekend, to expect long lines at the lift ticket windows and rental areas. This was not true at Tyrol Basin. Everything moved along at a good pace. They got a lot of people their boots and skis in a short amount of time.

We sent my daughter to children's ski school and my wife and I availed ourselves of the free beginner lesson that comes with a lift ticket and rental. One hour later we were all heading down the beginner areas in some way, shape, or form.

I can't review the more advanced features of the Tyrol Basin because I was not skilled enough to use them. For beginning skiers we had a great time on the beginner areas. We will be back.

Reviewed by: Joey, DoubleDiamond, from McFarland

Summary:
A good place to go if you like half-pipes, terrain parks, moguls, and/or jumps. Can also be good for just fast skiing too. A fun place to go spend theday. Only like $32 for a 10 or 12 hour pass! One caution note though, is that there are many inexperienced skiiers and snowboarders, so you need to watch out a lot.
