Summary:
Loveland is a locals only type resort. The term resort is used very loosely here. There is a resturant, a bar and a ski shop and that is it. Just an hours drive up I-70 (except Sat morn when it's 2 hrs), Loveland is close to Denver.

A bare bones resort, no ammenities, cheap tickets, nasty icy runs, windy, rotten dirty bathrooms, lower class clients.

Reviewed by: ezweave, Intermediate, from Colorado Springs

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
Loveland is almost a local secret, but not really. It has alot of nice wide open high altitude runs. And (though it is not really important) it does have higher lift-serviced terrain than A-Basin. It has a quad that goes to the top, if you want that at A-Basin you have to hike for an hour or two.

It has nice steep runs and the park designers are not idiots. Towards the end of last season the park had some nice lines (steep tranny, steep landing), although that stupid spine at the end was too flat.

You can find alot of nice places to build a kicker, too. As long as you build it in the higher (less crowded) terrain, no one will hassle you.

A great place with cheap passes.

Reviewed by: SkiXtreme, DoubleDiamond, from Longmont

Summary:
The sky is deep blue, wind 15-25 gusting, no lift lines, and a foot of fresh pow from last night's storm. Face-shots galore in the trees and chutes. The 3-pin crowd are cutting first tracks off The Ridge, boarders are whooping it up and everyone's friendly and smiling.....could be a perfect blue-sky day at the height of ski season??? No way! The calendar on my watch says April 7th! Yeah, this is spring skiing in Colorado. When most people stash their planks and bring out the golf clubs, die-hard riders and skiers head to Loveland for some primo conditions. While the resorts are jammed with tourists and spring crud, Loveland's got untracked pow-pow. The elevation keeps snow light and fresh even into late April. Get this, late season tickets cost a mere $15. Heck, it's almost free! Can't get any sweeter than this.

Reviewed by: Neb Kor, Advanced, from Madison, WI

Summary:
If ye hast skin of leather, and balls of iron, then forsooth sons of Oden !! Loveland is the place for you. Sure it gets a little windy, but it's the best natural terrain you can find, and for just a little scratch at that. there is no stupid ski village here - nobodys going to try to sell you a glass of water, and you won't break your neck from colliding with mugs who are at a different skill level. This is a great place for everyone (kids' season passes are like $10, there is sick (with a capitol ick) advanced terrain off Chair 9, and the powder makes life sweeter for everyone) - while all the jesters and posers are trying to impress their friends at copper, winter park, vail, breck, etc. you'll be chillin and beatin' the crowds at loveland. i'll ride loveland till i stop.
