| | Reviewed by: Huecifer, Advanced, from Syracuse, NY Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: I spent a week here and was generally impressed with the mountian. It skis bigger than it looks, and there's a decent variety of terrain and stuff to look at. The grooming was excellent, although i would have appreciated a few more steep and groomed trails. Also, the lack of any real "off piste" type skiing was a disappointment. the "bowls" were pretty easy/skied off and moguled, but otherwise still fun.

| | Reviewed by: snowdog, Advanced, from Annandale, NJ Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Great Resort, something for everyone. Outstanding skiing, great restaurants, shopping and folks who know what they're doing in the ski shops all set in a picturesque setting (not to mention the escalator). I've been there 5 times and will be skiing there in December at the Hyatt Ski School. OK, here's the low-down. Yes its expensive, but no more expensive then anywhere else in CO. Look on the web for specials, you can do very well. On a tight budget? Stay in Avon,in the valley just below the base of the mountain, a 5-10 minute free shuttle trip away. Plenty of family restaurants and good reasonable lodging. Want 5 star all the way? Many hotels/condos to choose from (HYATT 5*)and make sure you hit Mirabelle or Beeno's Cabin (snow cat ride to the on-mountian rest.) Terrrain, not super challenging but plenty of well groomed challenging fun runs as well as many dble black bump runs. Killer terrian park as well. Good lifts, and mid-week, the mountian is yours. More tahn enough great skiing for a week. Lessons? take em' there, you won't find smaller day classes and better instructors. Snobby people? There are snobs everywhere but I have not found BC to have anymore than anywhere else. However BC is not a place for rude skiers/boaders or folks who don't appreciate a well run, meticulous upscale resort. Most clientele appreciate the finer things. Its not Killington! Don't look for hotdog stands and you won't find any wild out of control kids or parties, its a pretty mellow crowd. I have alway found the staff to be genuine, not rude or patronizing. I have skied at many resorts and have paid as much or more and recieved far less in value, BC never dissapoints. I gave it 5 stars although its not a "bargain", you get what you pay for!

| | Reviewed by: g_Force, Intermediate, from Brewer ME Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Well, I must say that I was disappointed with BC. Hordes of employees hired to wave and smile didn't impress me, nor did the escalators. I found the layout to be confusing, and while I am not one to appreciate the most advanced runs, the ones I took were fairly lackluster. Snow quality was poor -- while coverage was adequate in this less than average snow year, it was sloppy cruddy and not near what I expected. The snotty clientele didn't help at all. There were long lift lines everywhere which was a surprise from what I had read about this place. All in all a wasted day.

| | Reviewed by: Tony , Advanced, from Florida Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Beaver Creek sets the standard for service in Colorado. The Best Ski School. Friendly staff. Excellent grooming equipment. Yes, it is high priced, but it is worth it. No lift lines, varied terrain and great snow.
Which resort hosted the Downhill Events for the 1999 World Championships - Beaver Creek. The premiere speed events where held not at Vail but at Beaver Creek. So don't believe those reviews that questioned the availability of steeps. Beaver Creek offers something for everyone from a beginner area at the summit with great snow, to Grouse Mtn, to Rose Bowl and Larkspur Bowl, to "The Birds of Prey" downhill course. We paid the $15 to park in the village and the staff at the entry gate was very friendly and never questioned our intentions.
Overall, Beaver Creek is my favorite Colorado ski resort.

| | Reviewed by: Piet , Double Diamond Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: I've never read such a bunch of mean-spirited BS about a resort as I have about the Beave. So what if it's purpose-built for rich people and has escalators? Get a grip people, for steeps, powder, trees and out-of-bounds there's nothing that comes close in Summit and Eagle Counties.
