Summary:
Great place for the family. Very affordable. Daycare and ski school are available. Small enough so that you can let the kids go out on their own. Wonderful views. Not crowded on or off the runs. No lines to ride the lifts or buy tickets. Lots of hotel accommodations available in Lakeside. Shuttel runs daily for $5.00. Smaller resort for the beginning-intermediate skiier.

Reviewed by: jeff, DoubleDiamond, from Butte, MT

Summary:
Blacktail is a good mountain to learn to ski and if you enjoy groomed cruisers. Bad Rock is a pretty good bump run and the glade skiing off the Lakeside run is nice. Snowslip, rated more difficult, also had some nice soft bumps and is relatively narrow, (should be left ungroomed and rated most difficult trail).

Reviewed by: Sean O'Neil, Advanced, from Missoula, Montana USA

Summary:
Nice area for families or individual skiers who want cheap lift tickets and predominantly intermediate-level runs. However, it's overshadowed by its neighbor, Big Mountain in Whitefish. If you can afford the extra $16 for a lift ticket at the Big, you should go there.
