Summary:
I've been to Whistler numerous times due to having many customers in Vancouver.
Is it a great mountain? - yes - BUT - what use is a great mountain when the weather's always dreadful - fog, rain, clouds on the mountain, everything to ski in except for sun and blue skys.
Can't see where you're going? Welcome to Whistler. Like flat light - it's your place!
All those great pictures you see - it's on the one clear day all winter. Leave your camera home when going to Whistler and just buy a few post cards.
Before some yahoo tells me I went at the wrong (10) times, be sure to visit the Whistler web site during the winter and watch the web cams for a couple of days -gee, can't see much can you? It's even worse when you're there.
Before you put some good $ into going to a place you're almost assured of having awful weather (and by the way, the snow's usually pretty wet as it's only 6 miles from the ocean), check the weather.
My suggestion - Sierra Nevada's or Rockies - the snow's better, and you rarely get bad weather for more than a day or two. If crazy stuff is your thing, Alta, Arapahoe, Squaw or many others can equal whistler without the crappy visibility.

Summary:
It's an unbelievable mountain. Currently I'm living out East and there is NOTHING OUT HERE!!! Nothing compares to W-B... if you love powder hit up 7th heaven or Ruby Bowl (take the execelerator, then the T-bar - short walk up), or Harmony Bowl on Whistler. Most of the time you'll get amazing snow and some great weather. People are always friendly. There are a few lineups on holidays but they move fast (so many high speed quads :) ) but I went the Dec. 28/29 and there were no lineups at all. The snowboard park has great jumps, foods good, everything is good. Go if you get the chance... it's all worth it.

When I first saw the Glacier Bowl, my jaw dropped. When I saw it again on my second visit to W-B, my jaw dropped again. There are so many things to love here. I have wet dreams of W-B every other mid-summer night.

Fantastic resort. One of, if not the best resort I have ever been to.

Summary:
There wasn't much snow yet, but I found steeps, a narrow chute,
and medium-sized rock drops under the Peak chair. I love Canada
and Whistler, but the resort atmosphere (yuppies) sometimes
detracts from the experience.
