Summary:
I am a local, and while the weather can be a factor with the fog, the snow more than makes up for it. I would rather miss a day or two of perfect conditions due to fog, rather than ski on rain soaked snow in wet ski gear! The line-ups can be long if you call 10-15 minutes maximum, long. I have been up over 20 times so far this year and except three times had maximum 5 chair wait. For the average mountain conditions I will take some fog and rare long line-ups any day!

Summary:
We spent 4 days there in 2002 and we're headed back in 3 wks. Absolutely love this place...gorgeous! Perfect for skiers of all levels and the price is right. Nightlife ok, but what more do you want after a full day of skiing? Great place for families as well. Wonderful accomodations and the staff there is exceptional. We had a fabulous time there in 2002 and we can't wait to go back! Check out their website bigwhite.com and see for yourself.

Summary:
Don't believe the miserable guy from Seattle. This is a great place for terrain and variety. And snow conditions. Loads of lodging at the base too. We had a few foggy days in 2 weeks but nothing to complain about and well outweighed by the deep powder n good visibility days. As usual all the staff were real friendly. There were no queues (in Feb) - you felt the mountain was all yours. The Rark's pretty good but the pipe was a bit iffy - but perfect if you're new to pipes cos you're not put off by pros everywhere. Just don't expect much nightlife, and go see the Rockets in Kelowna.

Summary:
Spent a week here after a week week in Fernie and feel in love with the place. I'm led to believe we struck gold... clear skies and fresh powder the whole time we were thier. Sure beat the rain in Fernie!! The mountain is set up more for a family enviorment but will let the hardcore boarder have thier fun. The accom was awesome, food fantastic and like all Canadians, the people as helpful as ever

Reviewed by: Richard OBrien, Beginner, from London, UK

Price Paid: $0.00

Summary:
Having just recently come back from Big White I would highly recommend it. It has received huge investment over the last few years and I feel that now is a great time to go before the crowds start arriving.

Whilst resorts such as Whistler have been struggling to get decent snow this year Big White provided us with fresh powder every day bar one. The downside of getting regular snow was that the weather was frequently overcast (6 out of 9 days) and visibility was impaired but I guess if you want regular snow you are going to have to accept a bit of cloud. On the 3 days when the sun shined it was perfect.

There are a good variety of runs ranging from fairly straightforward greens like SunRun through to challenging double diamonds like The Cliff. Alternativley,if you fancy something technical without having to go at high speed try some of the off piste runs through the trees, I did and found myself having to dig myself out of waist deep snow on several occasions!

During the week, the queues were usually extremely small (less than a minute) and quite often you got onto a lift straight away. Even at the busiest times on the busiest lifts I managed to get on within 2-3 minutes.

As for the cost, coming from the UK the exchange rate was good and everything was quite cheap. Overall I paid about the same as I would have done for a similar length trip to Europe despite the extra distance to get there.

Accomodation was excellant, no problems atall.

All in all I'd give this 5/5.
