Probably best for families, Silver Star offers most for those who like skiing blue and black runs, but there is much for experts over on the back side (as well as adventure skiing on Valhalla ridge) and beginners won't be disappointed either.
It's a relative backwater (compared to Whistler or somewhere like that, at least), but the village is still growing (if you visit, check out the village master plan in the real estate office) and the skiing is tremendous (as is the hospitality). I prefer it over other nearby resorts, such as Big White where the runs are too crowded and the village is too sprawling.
I enthusiastically recommend Silver Star and suggest that you give it a try.
