Summary:
Hey folks - you see the negative reviews about this place. For the most part - they are written by locals who DO NOT WANT you to crowd what they actually consider to be "their" private Idaho. The truth is, Bogus is an incredible ski mountain with terrain for every level of skiing in abundance!

Summary:
This is the little mountain that could. Ok so it's not so little (Bogus's 2600 some odd acres humbles Sun Valley's 2200). With it's brillant $199 season pass (and just announced $375 combo season pass w/ Brundage just 2 hours North) it has lured people back to the ailing sport of snowriding and been able to make huge improvments on the mountain. In 15 years Bogus will be one of the nations premier non-destination resorts. But thats it if your looking for an aspen-esque expeirence you won't find it. Bougus has great terrain but it is short and snow is spotty. Hell if your an out of shape ex ski hero you can go rip up the steeps and still be at the bottom before your ego is bruised. I've been skiing at Bogus for 12 years, pushing the 80-90 day mark every year and the mountain is still one of the most entertaining i've found I could ski here forever and not get bored. even though literally i've probably skied every inch of the hill. -look see those bushes over there... i've probaly ruined a perfectly good pair of edges lookking for a line through it. Bogus is a mounatin thaat reveals itself slowly, put in some time there over the years and you'll come to love it. Or stop by real quick and if your lucky the hill will be ready for you, but it can be ugly as well and turn off just about anyone on a bad day.

Summary:
Flat out AWESOME! The mountain lodging isn't bad. The Night Skiing is the best(just dress warmly). I highly recommend the backside(no lift lines and lifts are fast). For my first time skiing this was the perfect resort. Recommended for anyone and everyone.

Reviewed by: Rich, Advanced, from Boise

Summary:
Bogus is a great place for families to ski. It provides great value for people who live in Boise. They offer $199 season passes at various times of the year. They are open every day until 10pm which makes it ideal to go skiing after work to take full advantage of the cheap pass. The resort has bought several new grooming machines but seems reluctant to use them much of time which makes skiing a real bummer some times. The mountain does provide some challenges. The service is spotty at best. Some very friendly people who work at Bogus but also some people who clearly do not enjoy their jobs. A beer at Poineer can sometimes take awhile to get. Best runs with uncrowded slopes are found on the backside of the mountain. My favorite runs are Wildcat and War Eagle. Both are pretty steep but Wildcat is the longer of the two. Overall, Bogus is a great ski resort but management could do so much more!

Summary:
Overall this resort has it all. Condos, rental, repair, food, beer, retail, and most importantly snow. I love this place and i encourage you to swing by. You could even ride the bus up if you don't want to drive. I have even been known to hitch hike a time or two.
