| | Reviewed by: jaminsonp, Intermediate, from corvallis, OR Price Paid: $0.00 Summary: Hoodoo is a cool place if you live in the valley here in Oregon. They've kinda revamped it with a new lodge and store, which I hear is nice. The mountain itself is small-to midsize; not exactly huge by any standard, but still delivers the goods. The day I went it dumped the whole time we were there, 40 mph wind gusts and blah blah blah. It shut off the backside of the mountain, which is supposed to be pretty good, but I don't know. Santiam Pass is known for getting huge dumps of snow and Hoodoo is right there. We had powder (kinda wet) al over the place; hardly anyone tracking it up at all. Nice steep runs, with a surprising amount of variety for the size place it is. it's also a pretty good deal for a day ticket, and is not very crowded. Watch out for the Red chair coming off; it's steeper than the mountain is!

| | Reviewed by: Karrie Pavish, Beginner, from Bend, OR USA Summary: I enjoyed my time at Hoodoo immensely, even though I had to take some harsh falls on a main run because the bunny lift was closed at first. The staff there is very friendly & helpful, and it's not crowded, so I thought it was a terrific place to have my first day of boarding. And the scenery was pretty.
The friends (experienced boarders) I went with enjoyed the day as well, though there was no new powder that day so it was a little slick in their opinion. They want to take me to Mt. Bachelor next, because they say the boarding there is better. Still, for $16 lift, food, promos, staff, location, and bunny hill, I thought Hoodoo made my first snowboarding experience fun, and I want to go again!
