Summary:
The highest base elevation in the state of Oregon gives this resort the BEST POWDER you have ever ridden in the Pacific Northwest! Value is the underlying word for this resort. A great family ski area, but also plenty of great terrain for the real snowrider. Bakcisde cat skiing trips, numerous lines to hike to...and no lines, so powder days last all week long.

Summary:
Anthony Lakes is small but is packed with great features like snow, some steep technical terrian that most small resorts lack, and wonderful snowcat riding off the backside of the mountain into wonderfully steep, powdery, gladed terrian. Awesome little place. I wish I lived closer.

Reviewed by: Robert Johnson, Advanced, from Beaverton, OR, USA

Summary:
Best ski value in Oregon. Although the resort had a price hike for 2000-2001, it is still a great value. We took a group and stayed in Baker and got a stay and ski package. Lift ticket for adults was $22/day and $17/day for under 18. The high base elevation provides good snow that is much drier than the Cascades. The weather clears much faster than the Cascades. The drive is not much longer than drving to Mt Bachelor from Portland. With one triple serving the area it is a great family area as all trails lead back to the same spot.

The resort seems to ski bigger than it is because of the variety of off piste skiing. The tree skiing on powder days is incredible. I just wish there was closer lodging.

Summary:
I love this place. Don't expect to find the amenities of a big resort here. The snowmobilers are a real problem for people looking for the silence that skiing offers. I'd give this place 5 stars if it weren't for them.

Summary:
I had fun at anthony. I only rode 1/3 of the mountain and I still wasn't bored. Best hit is the table near the bottom under the chair. They offer snowcat skiing and boarding, which I want to try next season. For a great ride for expert skiiers and boarders, as you get off the chair, turn left and keep going until you have to hike to keep going. Keep hiking in the same direction and you will find a nice 1/4 pipe. If you keep hiking up past in run to the quarter pipe up to the peak you can get a great veiw and a gnarly ride down with natural hits, cliffs and no tracks. The snow the day i went was pretty good. There was 4" of fresh semi-wet snow about 4 days ago and I could get "fresh tracks" forever. All in all, go to anthony lakes and get a good deal and some great riding.
